Maya (30s. Office Worker) My very first American trip, a special memory... I became a big fan of Angel Homestay. (5/5/1998)

My very first trip to America started with Angel Homestay. My friend introduced Kaoru to me when I was looking for a free-plan trip for individual in the United States. Before the trip, I exchanged some emails with Kaoru. One day I asked her about the airport pick up. I told her that I would be in black. Black T shirts and pants. Then I asked her how they look like. Kaoru told me that Donna will wear something with BIRD. Big bird of Sesame Street came up in my mind. I thought that American people have a lot of sense of humor. I was anxious to meet them at the airport. But the ladies I found at the airport were an elegant lady with an eye mask with feathers like Venetian Spring Festival and a young lady with white sandals. It was the first time that I met Donna and Kaoru.
Many people visit Donna's house. Her friendly friends and neighbors came to visit. They talked to me very friendly. We went shopping and went out dinner together. Hamburger with french fries and an apple, Smoozeis at the restaurant.. everything was new to me and delicious! I can't forget the toasted Marshmallow after the BBQ. It was so sweet!
Glendora is a safe and quiet suburb. Children can play outside safe. The trees in the downtown shape like candy drops. Mountains are very pretty. I visited Laguna Beach with Donna. It was very pretty and artistic town. I spent a wonderful 1 week. I brought so many nice memories home that I can't write enough I'd like to visit this Summer again.
